Why should you try Kickboxing?

Why should you try kickboxing? Kickboxing is a type of exercise that combines both martial arts techniques and fast-paced cardio. The high-energy workout challenges the beginner and elite athlete alike, by building stamina, improving coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build muscle. Of course, here at Tiger Martial Arts will make kickboxing a fun and challenging workout.

Are Martial Arts Effective
What is Kickboxing?

Our experienced instructor’s here at Tiger Martial Arts leads the kickboxing classes by demonstrating choreographed movements of punches, such as kicks, and knee strikes. The type of combinations is a mix of punches, such as:

  • Jabs
  • Crosses
  • Hooks
  • Uppercuts

The lower body movements will also include, the following:

  • Knee Strikes
  • Front Kicks
  • Roundhouse Kicks
  • Side Kicks
  • Back Kicks

Classes also incorporate a warmup and cool down as well as both dynamic and static stretching. Often, there is a brief segment specifically for core exercises like crunches and planking. Typical kickboxing classes run from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

The cardio can help you have a daily calorie deficit, allowing for fat loss. However, the loss may include the belly fat that can be difficult to lose. Excess belly fat has also been associated with a higher risk of heart disease, certain types of cancer and diabetes.

Our Kickboxing classes will challenge the technique, endurance, and above all, concentration. The most important thing is making sure that you take control of your mental health.

Why should you try Kickboxing?

kickboxing is a good fitness choice for those looking to burn calories for weight loss, or to improve stamina and heart health. People who become easily bored with stationary cardio equipment like treadmills and stair steppers will enjoy the fast pace and new movements in our kickboxing class.

Don’t worry if you haven’t had previous experience in Martial Arts or boxing, by just taking part in our class, you will be greeted by a welcoming team and instructors. However, we recommend that when you do start this type of exercise to take it slow. Listen to your body and take water breaks when you need them, working your way up to exercising at full intensity.

It is normal to feel frustrated if you’re having trouble keeping up, but don’t quit, even if you’re struggling to understand the instructors’ movements, we here at Tiger Martial Arts will not give up on you.
